Our POPIA Commitment

POPIA governs how organisations collect, use, store, share, and protect personal information. LabourID acts as responsible party for our platform users and as operator when processing data on behalf of business clients.

Information Officer

Eight Conditions for Lawful Processing

• Accountability: Appointed Information Officer; active compliance programme
• Processing limitation: Information collected only for specific, defined purposes
• Purpose specification: Purpose communicated at point of collection
• Further processing limitation: No use incompatible with the original purpose
• Information quality: Reasonable steps taken to maintain accuracy
• Openness: Transparent policies published and maintained
• Security safeguards: AES-256 encryption, TLS 1.3, access controls, regular assessments
• Data subject participation: Access, correction, deletion, and objection requests honoured within 30 days

Your Data Subject Rights

• Know whether we hold information about you
• Access a copy of your personal information
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
• Delete your information (subject to retention requirements)
• Object to processing in certain circumstances
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator

PAIA Manual — Access to Records

Under the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000, submit a completed PAIA Form C (available from www.justice.gov.za) to:

Access fees

• Printed copies: R1.10 per A4 page
• Electronic copies: No charge for the first 50 pages
• A deposit may be required for extensive requests
